Speeding up Services, Directorate General of Immigration Adds "Autogate" Machines at Ngurah Rai Airport

"This year another 54 units (autogate machines) will be installed, namely at arrival 30 units and at departure 24 units," said Director General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Silmy Karim, contacted from Bali, Friday (29/3/2024).

Immigration checks using the autogate system are said to only take around 15 seconds to 25 seconds per passenger.

Immigration autogate checks can also be used by Indonesian citizens with all types of passports. Separately, Chairman of the Indonesian Tourism Industry Association (GIPI) Bali/Bali Tourism Board (BTB) Ida Bagus Agung Partha Adnyana said that installing immigration autogate facilities at airports is indeed needed for airports in international tourist destinations, including at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali. On Friday (29/3/2024), the I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport received the inaugural arrival of Indigo Airlines flight directly from Bengaluru (India) to Bali. The Airbus A320 aircraft, operated by IndiGo Airlines, landed at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Badung on Friday at 09.30 Wita, carrying 183 passengers from India. The aircraft will depart back to Bengaluru on Friday afternoon carrying 162 passengers.

IndiGo Airlines has scheduled direct flights on the Bangalore-Denpasar route once a day. Regarding this matter, Handy stated that the operation of this direct flight route will provide a positive contribution to Indonesia or India.
