Police and TNI Investigate Alleged Involvement of Relatives of Arrogant Driver

Based on the examination results, the military license plate number 84337-00 is not registered under the name of the suspect or the name of any alleged relative of the suspect. The same license plate number is registered under the name of Retired Air Marshal Asep Adang Supriyadi, a lecturer at the Defense University. The plate is also registered with the number 1641/MA/XI/2022 for a Mitsubishi Pajero car, not the Toyota Fortuner car that was driven by Pierre.

This act of forgery resulted in Asep feeling disadvantaged because he was linked to the suspect.

He avoided odd even numbers when returning home for Eid by using a fake TNI service plate.

"The incident on April 11 during the odd-even traffic restriction was due to an arrogant driver who violated traffic rules on the Cikampek Toll Road at Km 56. He evaded the odd-even policy during the Eid al-Fitr holiday by using a fake TNI vehicle registration plate," said Wira.

For his actions, the suspect was subject to Article 263 of the Criminal Code with the threat of six years in prison.

The violation of rules by using TNI service plates committed by suspect Pierre adds to the number of cases that have been revealed by the TNI. Since 2023 until now, there have been 20 similar cases.

"Up until now, through cooperation with the police, there have been 20 cases of arrests against civilians using fake military license plates. They are sometimes more aggressive than actual members," said Colonel Pom Jefri B. Purba, Chief of the TNI Physical Security and Criminal Investigation Unit.

The allocation of TNI license plates illegally and the arrogance of the driver, according to Jefri, have harmed both the TNI institution and the people. If there are similar incidents, citizens are asked to immediately report to the police or the nearest TNI center. Those who use TNI license plates are also equipped with special TNI driving licenses.

"So, if a civilian uses a car with TNI plates, but does not have a TNI driver's license, then it is suspected that it is illegal. "It is hoped that people will not be tempted, especially as some of the marketplaces offer this which is completely untrue and infringing," he said.
